HOW TO ACCESS YOUR WI-FI ROUTER’S SETTINGS

How to Access Your WiFi Routers Settings

As more people upgrade their smartphones, smart phones and other portable devices to include wireless Internet connections, many of them also have “wireless routers.” These devices can either be a built in part of the computer hardware, or they can be a separate device that you connect to your home network. Many users don’t realize how to access your wi-fi router’s settings. This is unfortunate, because the setting is actually one of the most important on any device, since it enables you to make your device connect to the Internet. If you don’t know how to change the settings on your Wi-Fi router, you might find that your Internet service isn’t as strong as it could be, or that your data speed may be less than it could be. The good news is that you can change your settings, just like you do with any other computer or device. Here is an important source where you can grab alot of info.

Your router probably came with default settings. If you don’t know how to change your wireless connection settings, you will need to contact your provider, or look online for instructions or help. Most devices will let you do this without any trouble. Most providers also provide instructions for doing this on their Web sites.

To access your wireless router’s settings, first uninstall any software that you have installed on your computer. Then unplug the Internet connection from your laptop or Smartphone. Turn your computer or phone off. You should then disconnect any wires from your laptop or Smartphone that you use to connect to the Internet.

When your computer is turned off, turn off the power at the breaker panel too. Open the Internet browser on your computer. On some browsers, you will see a series of box icons, called the browser’s home page. Click the appropriate icon to access your router’s settings.

In most cases, the browser will be set to Home, which means it is connected to the Internet and automatically opens when you open the browser. However, if you have changed the browser setting to the usual settings, such as the homepage, you will need to click the Wireless button. The next time you visit the Internet, you will see a blue screen indicating that you are already connected to the network. If your wireless connection does not recognize a signal, your browser may prompt you to enter a pass code, which is often associated with your wireless account information.

If you enter the incorrect code, your browser will display an error message, or worse, may not open at all. For most users, changing the password is usually the best way to access your router’s settings. There is a key on your modem that is used by your wireless Internet service to access the settings, so changing it can help you connect to the Internet without problems.

The next step involves hitting the WAP button on your modem. This will open a web browser, just like you would when connecting to the Internet. This time, however, you are going to enter the WAP pass code that is associated with your wireless account instead of your user name or the usual password. You will also see a WAP panel that allows you to choose your router’s security options. When you enter these credentials, the browser will ask you to enter your administrator password in order to access your Wi-Fi router’s settings.

From this point on, you can access your Wi-Fi router’s settings through your computer just as you would if you were to connect wirelessly. The one thing you need to remember is that while your computer is showing your information, your router’s software is storing this data on its own personal storage device. If you were to try to access this data directly, your computer may not be able to find the settings for it. For this reason, it is always safer to let your computer connect to your home network and access your wireless internet settings from there. This way, you can be sure that you can get all of your settings reset to the default (off) whenever you would like.
